Meta tags: right or wrong?
Does anyone know what the deal is with meta-tags these days. Somebody find out and tell me. Shit.

i was hoping that YOU would tell ME. they have SOMETHING to do with a "collaborative bookmark catalog" website called del.icio.us (that's my juvenile understading of it, anyway; haven't taken the time to geek out over it yet).
well, visit the site and sign up (free, just needed to keep track of your tags). then, i think, there is some way to begin tagging your sites with key words, enabling them to come up when others search del.icio.us on those terms.
this maybe is not what metatags are, but the word "tag" is indeed involved.
next, find out what "trackback" links in blogs are all about. your practical application of these things shall be forthcoming.
i spelled "understanding" worng.
I read words based on the way they look anyway. Maybe this means I am illiterate? Who cares. Anyway, from what I understand, meta tag "keywords" (an html description in the actual code), but they haven't been used extensively for about 8 years, except by one obscure search engine. However, remember our discussion about "robots?" (we've had many, I know, but this one is about the robots.txt file that is placed in the website directory. Anyway, once a site has been indexed, most search engine have "bots" that scour your pages for any word. That's what I've done, it's just a matter of getting indexed with Google, which I think I've done legitimately now. Okay.
One other thing- I'm not sure if you saw about the third to last post here, but there are questions that need answering. Also, I just posted new stuff on the page yesterday afternoon, new new stuff.
