Puzzling

This is, I believe, made in Japan. It's called GROW-RPG, and its mysteries are yours for the probing. It took me about 2 hours of fumbling to solve it. These 2 hours were not continuous, mind you; lest it be said that I have no life. I did, in fact, interrupt it to eat dinner last night, sleep, do some work this morning, and eat lunch.

My cryptic hints, given in early-NES instruction manual format, are below, to be used only if needed ... should you decide to take the challenge:

_____________________________________________________________________
Hint 1: For Hero's assistance, you must help each Grow to its maximum potential.
********************************************************************
Hint 2: Grow correctly to determine what is needed for each.
********************************************************************
Hint 3: The anger of a Devil should not be quelled too quickly.

Hint 4: Still Stuck? Call one of the EyeMaze counselors, available Thursdays from 19:00 to 20:00 Pacific Standard Time.

It took so long to load on my crappy dial-up connection that I'm just going to call the counselor. Surprisingly, those hints are what I've been looking for for a long time. I will now apply them to solve my life's mysteries.

too bad you can't load it. try it from school or something.

Hint 4: Rocks can take a very long time to Grow.

I played, I lost, I attained a level 3 house and a level 2 forest. Then I went into the shop, purchased some hearts, then died at the hands of creatures spawned by the demon. I had no control over this. A dragon also attacked a castle of mine and killed several men, then burned it down. Patience you must have.

the game is fun because it's like, "what the fuck is this bullshit?!" you have to sort of get inside the head of someone who was probably taking mushrooms.

here's a tip:
"True love can't be bought in a store; save your money for travel to exotic islands."

Hmmmm, okay. I fall into those tips easily. Oh, by the way, I reached the last stage of Grow. The last board if you will.
